About the Project
AdoptShown TV is a web series that sheds light on the realities of individuals who have aged out of the foster care system without being adopted.
While many narratives focus on the adoption journey, this project shifts the perspective to those who were never chosen, exploring their struggles, resilience, and hopes beyond institutional care. Through a series of interconnected episodes, it aims to amplify their voices and foster discussions on the overlooked aspects of the adoption system.

It seeks to raise awareness, challenge stigmas, and advocate for better policies surrounding aging out of the foster care system. It is not just a web series; it is a call to action for institutions, policymakers, and society to rethink how we support individuals who are left without permanent families. By presenting real stories and firsthand accounts, the project strives to humanize the issue and encourage meaningful change.

THESIS

Team Experience
A Personal Reflection
Creating this project was a deeply moving and eye-opening journey for our team. We entered this with the goal of telling meaningful stories, but we found ourselves profoundly impacted by the individuals we met along the way. Their resilience, vulnerability, and strength challenged our perspectives on family, belonging, and the support systems in place for those aging out of foster care. Through this experience, we learned that storytelling is not just about presenting facts—it’s about amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. We hope that through this project, more people will listen, understand, and take action.
